Xylene is an aromatic hydrocarbon consisting of benzene bonded to two methyl and can be produced through the catalytic naphtha reform. Naphtha catalytic reformation produces xylene mixture consisting of paraxylene ( p-xylene) , ortoxylene ( o-xylene) , metaxylene ( m-xylene) , and ethylbenzene. P-xylene is the isomer that is worth selling the most high as it can be used as feedstock in the production of terephthalic acid on the polyester plant.
